Family Camping Album

Are you a camping family, been out camping yet? I have and am going to go again. We also like to hike and Geocache while out in the wilderness, OK, that would be a State Park! It's a fun thing to do and you get your exercise in as a bonus. Seeing Double? Like in Twins double?

My twin nieces are both expecting boy babies very shortly and I decided to make them some cards up. I did decide to offer them on ebay first to anyone wanting to greet an arrival of an infant boy and I can always make more cards if a person buys either one. I was really worried HOW the brown and lavender one would look like but I think that is my favorite of the two of them. Sometimes you just don't know till it is all put together!

Kitty Princess

Nope, my Kitties don't look like this, I have a feeling even if they were white they would be full little gray dust Bunnies! I have not posted a Kitty Cat card in quite a while, what has taken me so long? They are one of my favorite subjects and many of my siblings are cat lovers, we have seven between us and with the exception of one sibling that doesn't have any, we all think she was adopted. She's so funny when she comes over that she makes sure she hangs her coat up and puts her shoes in the closet. You all KNOW what those pesky kitties do to a new visitors coat if it is left out, yep, a new bed.

It's Spring ahead today! Why am I still up? The winter went so slow so why I am shocked that it is already Mid March? Ummmm... Still have mounds of snow in Minnesota but hoping the next few weeks will take care of that and looking forward to getting outside and doing some walking instead of on my threadmill. I want to show you something I put together for Valentine's day, a mini-album for Valentines. Oh, I know I have been doing alot of Treat sets, I love doing them, they are easy a fun and make a very nice gift!! There is my latest one:

There she is, or he or ??. Would you believe that that Snowman is a gift tag? Yep, it is. I backed it with 140lb paper and popped it up. I always like to reinforce anything that is paper that I pop so it doesn't get dented. The blue paper is actually very sparklely and the tin is from Nestles and is 4 inches tall and 4 inches around. I want to share this with you, if you love Cardinals and outdoors then you will like what you see. I bought a frame at Michael's and inserted this bird image and decorated it from there. Some ribbon and flowers and and and, well you folks know what you are seeing and Tis the Season. I am feeding the birds this year as always and I saw a pair of Cardinals outside on the feeders but I do have to say that I am feeding the squirrels just as much, seems there is a line up out there and a pecking order. I just so happened to be home and saw two male pheasants out there as well and boy they are really pretty. Without further ado.... Our first snowfall

I'm back to show you a shaker card. Just in time for our first snow. It is exciting outside, very pretty now ~ I have to wonder how long I will be liken that!!

I took a photo from the side so I hope you will be able to see the "dome" of the shaker filled with beads. I can't believe it has been a year since I made these kinds of Cards. I had to re-figure out the cutting templates I used. Wishing you all a wonderful day, from the snowy Midwest! Jane

There is the complete Treat Jar set. I love the colors, it turned out very well and so happy with it all. I want to share with you all today some of the features of the card. first off and I am sure you noticed, it's an easel card, they are very popular right now and I see why! Notice on the card front the Snowman - it that correct? Or should I be saying or writing snowperson, Umm. Anyways, it is a digital image that I colored him/her with my COPIC markers and the added some flower soft (polar white) to the snow drifts. The snowflakes are both paper punched with the Martha Stewart paper punch and also are foamies too and I placed gems on the top of those in both pink and silver. Did you notice how 'POPPED' the main image is? Oh, you will be surprised! The image or snowman is raised out front the card front by... drum roll, a ribbon spool and I saw it at my blogger friend and former design team member Carolyn's blog and I loved how it looked but I decided to go one step further and left some of the ribbon on the spool and used that and other ribbon to make one bigger size bow and topped it off with a stick pen and snowflake!!

As with a digi, you can change the size of it on your computer, I happen to dump the image into a word document file and did the adjustments there and printed it out on card stock, I had to make a smaller image for the jar top. I forgot to mention up above that this little guy/gal has heart gems for the hands. I picked up a pink heart gem pack and it had three sizes, I used the smallest of the snowman's buttons, the second size for the snowman's hands on the jar top and the largest size for the snowman's hands on the card. I loved that they came that way, it worked out perfectly for what I was doing on this project. So, all you need to do is place treats inside this jar; Peppermints, Herseys's Kisses, whatever your favorite is... I personally love them all~~ Jane

Yep, I put together a few more pages. If you have been following me for a length of time, you know how I like to mix things up! So, I think I have been doing more creating than blogging so I am going to have to do some catchup with that. I have been doing some ebaying (is that a word?) on my pages and happy to report, these three pages have gotten new homes. Do you have a favorite? There is one that I like a tad bit more but all where so much fun to make and to buy all those embellishments for. Hope the new owners are hapoy with them.

Olde World Treats for Christmas

This is my new Christmas Treat set, if you recall I created one for Thanksgiving also. I love making the jar, very easy and fun but the whole set was labor intense but lovely .. I am stocking up on my Christmas supplies, I hope to have most of them soon, the stores are a little behind so waiting for some fabulous papers!!

I made this for a online friend of mine, she wants 2 more treat jar sets. So that will be back on my crafting table soon. Had to chuckle today, when I went to do this post blogger was not able to load up images, i have bad timing. I hope all is well. Blessings, Jane

Sadly this is my craft table right now and it looks like this almost all the time!! Can't say that that is much of a system. I just seem to pull out alot of products while creating. Enough of that, I am here to let you know that there is a newly created swap message board on ebay. Anyone can join as long as you are registered on ebay. You swap with other paper crafty people looking for certain things, you will see once you go over there what it is all about. There are flower swaps, card swaps, ATC swaps, scrapbook page layout swaps, Christmas items and anything else you would like to see, just ask! Ho, Ho, Ho,
Wait, I guess that would be Christmas. I went to the store today to look at Halloween Costumes and right next to that area was Christmas! Thanksgiving does not get that much attention. This little guy has been my long time favorite so I did use this stamp about a month ago on another card I blogged there but you know that when doing a card, a stamp can have a life of its own. Fall is setting in here, yesterday, I put away all my garden statues and decorations and today my husband brought in the furniture so so , I guess if we get any more nice days and I hope we will, I may have to drag out a chair from the garage. Hello and Welcome,

I have fall on my mind with the rich jewel tone colors. I put this together over the last few days. I felt I had such butterfingers with it all the glue, oh my. But, I like it and it has a nice little treat jar to go with it. I stole those Tooties Rolls from my husband and they were missed. I actually did fill jar in the kitchen when he was home and he said 'What ya doing?", as you can see the jar is empty and I only got 4. Good grief, he told me to go get my own bag!! Anyways, looks like my batteries are going again, always seems to be the case, maybe I do need to go to the store.

Rich Fall Colors - Especially for YOU

Hello bloggers, last weekend I made some cards. Sometimes I go into my craft room and the ideas come and sometimes, well I think I can say that they are less than steller! I like to think that past weekend, the mojo flowed well. The first card was the Anya card I posted recently and now this one. I love the rich jewel tones on this and was thinking of Fall and Thanksgiving. background I used my leaf stamp 4 times and wet embossed those with Metallic Copper EP. I also embossed the main image with the same EP. The ribbon on the bottom reads "Made Especially for YOU" and then repeats. Music in the Garden

I'm having and planning a Garden Party here, A Celebration of Celebrations. So... there are so many details I have got to say and what is a dinner and evening party without Music? The Celebration will begin at 3:30 and go on till the wee hours. The DJ will be starting at 7:00pm but will need some music to play during the social hour, dinner hour and after the DJ packs up and leaves. Umm, have I mentioned I am musically challenged along with everything else I am challenged with? I am. SO.. to pick out music when we don't have much, I mean my husband has some which is a little too hard rock and rock for easy listening so I am passing on that. I did however ordered some CD's from the 1960's and 1970's that I saw on TV late one night I quick jotted down the number and called. But, I have wonderful friends who know I am challenged musically, technically and directionally. My friend said come on over and pick your music, I have tons. Well, she has quite an eclectic collection. I wanted to snatch and run but she had other ideas, LOL. We spent hours listening and singing together, we laughed and we cried and yes, she made fun of me not knowing the artists well. I said, hey, I'm a white girl, {Grin}.
I'll tell you what I walked away with, I am well aware that this music 'dates' me but then all my siblings and most of my friends are also the same age so I am hoping that they will enjoy the selection. I got R&B, POP, Easy listening, Country, Lite Rock, Jazz, Sole and a few Disco. I got John Denver, Johnny Cash {not John Deere}, Anne Murry, Chicago, KC and the sunshine band, Three Dog Night, The Judds, CCR {Have you ever seen the rain?} Moody Blues, Eric Clapton, Carly Simon {you all know how much I love her as when I did have a play list on my blog, it opened up with "Your so Vain", in reflection maybe not the best song to open a blog with LOL}, James Taylor.
Now, thanks to my hubby, we have ITunes software on our computer so in goes the CD, then it lists the songs on the CD, open a file and drag the song you want into a folder. You can also listen to the song if you want. Then you are done, upload to your IPOD and with cables and such, will be hooked up to speakers that will be out in the garden so we will have hours and hours of wonderful music that will not need {I hope} any attention from us during the day and into the evening. We will be shuffling the music so the different types of music will be mixed together. Did I tell you I get by with a little help from my Friends? Thank you, this one's for you.

Challenges: I decided to play along with these 5 challenges, this card is fairly simple plus one of the challenges allows to to enter in 5 challenges total which today works for me. I went to the eye doctor for my annual exam, an annual only because I am so lucky to be blessed with an eye disease that thankfully has not changes within the last 15 years but still not pleasant to undergo the eye photos, flashing lights and press the button and the eye dilations and other drops, sigh BUT happy to be done for yet another year. I have been thinking of getting a Circut ... Oh, on and off for about a year (takes me a while, doesn't it?). I just was not sure if I would use it enough to buy it and take up space in my craft room and have yet 'MORE STUFF'. I think you know what I finally decided. Regardless of how much I will use it, I decided to just purchase it and welcome it into my craft space. To do that, I needed someplace to put it so I found this cabinet at the Goodwill, I believe it was at one time a Microwave cart.
In the drawer I put my Wizzard die cuts and embossing folders. Inside the cabinet you see that I have more room to buy yet "More Stuff", huh. At the same time I purchased my Circut I picked up four cartridges.

Of course, this "new to me" cabinet and other purchases made it clear to me that I needed to clean my craft room. What started as a fairly quick project now was not. The day started out rainy which is a great day for the craft room and it now sunny out so I am off to enjoy the outside. Hope your day is nice and sunny too, Jane

Happy Wednesday, looks like a nice day today in Minnesota. I took these photos of my two "lovely" kitties a while back, I'm feeling a little lazy on with posting to my blog and card making the last few days but getting some other things done, it's all a trade off, ya know? So.. I thought I would show you something from me and in just so happens to be cats in the dog days of summer they want a little love too.

Nothing like bringing the outside in. I clipped a few of these branches to place in a vase in the house, I knew I would be seeing my little helpers on this project. Yep, sure enough, here they come, they are very predictable!! This is Charlie, she is the gray one and next comes the black one Joey. I think Charlie enjoyed the flowers more, sigh!

"Be Jolly", Christmas in July.

Phew, I barely was able to eek this card out in July. I wanted to post this as this card is featured in "Raise the Bar" challenge this week, the theme of the Challenge is Stickers. YES, that is a sticker in the center of the Tim Holtz ornament, it would be great to pop on over and see what they are brewing up this week at Raise the Bar. I do like this card, I think it is classy, understated and elegant. The pictures are not the best, I think the batteries are getting low on the camera, I have noticed at least in this camera that it does make a difference in the quality of the photo. But on to give you an idea of how the "Be Jolly" card turned out.

There is the sticker pack I used on this card, I hope to use more of these stickers on future Holiday cards. There are some beautiful ones out right now, and stickers have vastly improved in style the past several years. I had hoped to hook up of some card challenges with this card but I am afraid I am SO tired that it just is not going to be happening today/night but hopefully tomorrow. Christmas in July, "Peace on Earth"

Christmas in July. A very hot day in Minnesota. I was just thinking how nice it would be if we could mix the weather up to suit us, today I wouldn't mind some snow and cold weather. We were blessed with a marvelous weekend and my husband and I were able to get out of town at a friend's Cabin. Thank you for that! On our drive up and across the border to Wisconsin, you go through many small towns. I have to tell you that many of the residents love to sell things along side of the road. Strange stuff I have to say and really, you all know I love Vintage but at some point some items are just trash. Old rusted tractors, trucks, and you name it and we even saw half of a house 'For Sale', yes, half of a house. I don't know where the other half went too, it's not like it walked away. My Husband and I were commenting on all the stuff we saw and I asked, who buys that stuff? Then he said, remember when your dad bought ... HA! Husbands always recall what you don't want them to remember and forget what they should remember.

Here is the "Peace on Earth" card. I would tell you all about it but I think you already know. You folks know stuff. Okay, let's see, the gold snow flake which is underneath the main image is a Christmas Ornament from last year on clearance, umm. Otherwise, you know the rest. I do have another Christmas card made but the photos need to be done, let's see if I can post this Christmas card and still be in July.

My blue Doily on a card front.

On my last post I did mention that I picked this doily up for a song, the price I paid did not reflex it's true value. I did try and avoid making this card for at least several days but even that pledge did not last and this has been finished almost a week ago, just have not been able to blog and link until now but I'll going to show you what I did with it.

Hello,
I have a card for you today. I know I have been missing, LOL. Enjoying the summer and then not enjoying the summer. I have been taking a break from crafting and then our AC went out and took us a few days to figure that out, LOL and then getting someone out to look at it and in the end, we replaced the unit. A bit of a disappointment since it was only installed 7 years ago but this new one will last FOREVER or at least the warranty will. Nothing worse then a cranky crafter plus dear daughter and husband, well that is worse then a cranky crafter!

If you enjoyed the Tea Cup image, although this is a stamped image, I know of another lovely set that is digital that has a Tea Cup and Tea Pot, it is over at Priscillastyles Store. I have entered the envelope in the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge using the simple sketch and then by flipping it. The rest of the challenges are for the Easel Card front.

The last picture is my latest garage sale find. I bought the wooden stamp and the doily which still has the sale price ticket on it. Topsy Turvy Tomatoes

I decided to start monitoring some of my walking to see exactly how much (or how little) I was doing so I needed to pick up a new battery for my OMRON meter and while I was at the drug store I saw these (as seen on TV) hanging plant growers! Yes, those displays actually do work to get the merchandise sold!!! Those tomatoes look so tasty in the photo so I thought I buy it and give it a go, thinking I would hang it off of my gazebo then I decided to buy two, Haha. Both are doing well right now, one is a "Big Boy" and the other is a Cherry Tomato. I have seen some blossoms on both but nothing the shape of a tomato. I'll keep you posted on when and how well my tomato plants are growing - whether I get a bumper crop or not.

Silver Sunday

Just when I found out about White Wednesday, Silver Sunday catches my eye. This is an old wash tub that I have on my front porch with flowers in it. I have placed this on my porch in winter also with Spruce tips and Christmas lights. This post is for Silver Sunday. Hoping they will let me play LOL, maybe this is more gray than silver.

Thanks so much for your visit. I made this card to have on hand, she turned out to be a little plump but she shore is pretty!! I used pale peach papers and a paper doily, ribbon and flowers from a Spring bush and a heart charm from the bridal section and put it all together, no image required for this beauty.

White Wednesday, Clear Vase with Baubles and Lace

I am so happy to join in with White Wednesday on this Thursday. I just adored all the entries last week and want to thank those who took the time to leave me a kind word, I have to admit I have not been on my computer as much the past few weeks, I have many balls up in the air right now. I vow to kick up my time management skills, they are a wee bit rusty! Now on to White Wednesday!!!

I have a vase here, I have been purchasing them to get ready for a large party I will be hosting in September, I have a few more to buy. Inside is small white glass Christmas ornaments along with some white pearl garland and some laces and trim which I have no doubt you will be seeing those again on future posts. Went to a Car Show this weekend

Last year my husband bought a 2009 Ford Bullit car as his 'hobby' car. My husband entered her in this car show on Memorial Day, here she is number 299.

This was my first car show, I am sure I will go again but this is really my husband's passion. I learned and forgotten already more about makes, models and factory specs, please DON'T ask.

This car has what they call 'suicide' doors as the open differently then they do today.

Notice the door handles? Some owners remove them and buff them out, some feel that they show better. This one was a very nice looking car. The doors then use a remote to open them.

Some of the owners put little props by their cars, this is not a real dog but a statue.

White Wednesday,, Vintage scale.

I'm doing something Totally different today and maybe (?) every Wednesday till I run out of 'white' stuff, not sure how much I have, LOL outside of my own 'whitey tighties' that is. I pretty much thinking they really would NOT want to see that!!! So, I reached up on a shelf that runs over my front door and took down this scale, then I blew off the dust but then again, is dust not white? This is a vintage scale made in Chicago Illinois, USA. This is my second Wedding card for my weddings in June. Yes, I know, they are both white, silver and gray but the newly wed couples will be more than OK with that. I promise my next card posted will not be these colors. I used some older stash on this one like the bookplate and photo corners. The Wedding bells is a stamp and was wet embossed with silver and I added silver pearls for the bell ball.

My favorite Garden Center

Is only 20 minutes from my house, I LOVE LOVE it there and will at least 3 - 4 times this spring and summer. It is huge and oh so much FUN. I'll share some photos with you.

There is what I bought, a very modest purchase. We are doing a 're-do' with some edging in one of our garden areas. Of course I will be back to buy some pretty flowers and some garden accessories soon. These pictures are only on one side of the street, they have the other side of the street as well. That is where I needed to go to get my edgers, yes, they load it for you, gotta love that, they have exceptional service, staff, plants and garden supplies which is exactly why I go there. Also these photos were taken late April on a cool Monday morning and in a few weeks, you will not be able to find a parking spot and cars will be lining the streets for a good mile complete with traffic control on the weekends, it gets very crazy. Now you know why I visited already and try to go during the week days although still busy with semis loading.

Thinking of you, this card is going to some good friends of mine. The sentiment on the front is a rub-on. I really am enjoying the package of rub-ons that I bought.

I added some lace to the left hand side of the card front and also added some button flowers and used my MS pouch to recreate the two layer butterflies and used two half pearls for the bodies. I also created a thick style envelope to hold this card, you can get a little peek of it as the card is standing on it.

The underlay for the sentiment is a light lavender felt coaster. It came in a package of 4, I used one of these already several months ago.

Going to the Chapel

Spring and Summer are the most popular time of the year for couples to wed. I have two weddings to attend in June so I thought I better get started. I bought this new rubber stamp just for the occasion. I was surprised to see that I did not have a Wedding cake stamp, it is a classic after all and may never go out of style.

For some of the embellishments, I added some wedding flavors you can find in the Wedding section at Joanne's or Michael's or any other good sized craft store. The silver rings and white flowers are from Michael's wedding section and my package of rings that will last a LONG time. The words are character rub-ons that I thought would fit the sketch challenge I am entering very nicely.

This is my party dress. I wanted a shorter length so I could get some moves going and have my skirt swirl for the party over at Priscilla's aka Midnight Madness. I think I am going to have to get a wax and some new shoes, purse and an updo. See you all on the dance floor!

Mother's Day Photo Collage

Hello and Welcome.

Today I did a Video on my camera. Although the blogger video does not show a photo on the front, please click on the arrow in the lower left hand side to get the show started. I tried to research why I was not getting a photo on the front and instead got a black screen but apparently this is a current known open blogger problem so I at first thought that my file was not uploading and was empty. I hope that it can be fixed in the near future.

So, have you played it yet? I really did not think my voice sounded like that, I guess so. The Collage was on a artists canvas, an 11 x 14 size about 1 1/2 thick. There is a trick to this, the size of the video can only be 100 MB long and I kept on exceeding that range with my ramblings but I think I got it with this one. My learning curve must be very long, seems like I had been working on this video quite a while. Most of the products used are by Basic Gray, the papers, the chip board frames and some of the flowers. The remaining three larger flowers are from Petaloos and the Ornate plate which has my Mother's name in it is a Tim Holtz product.

Please let me know what you think of the Collage and video.

On Saturday, St. Paul Minnesota lost a Police Officer. He was on duty and called to a Car Jacking and was gunned down in his Squad car. Two suspects were involved, one suspect allegedly attacked another officer called in to apprehend the suspects and was shot and killed by that officer. A swat team was called in and they located the second suspect. This is always so sad and senseless. A family lost a son, brother, husband and father. I grew up in St. Paul, it's a tough hood and it's hard to get by, I no longer live in that city of my youth.

I think this will be on my mind for awhile. Counting her blessings today, Jane

Mother's day card

Hello and WELCOME.

Can you all believe Mother's day is right around the corner? So, I know I wanted to show her how much I care with a handmade card so I made this a top priority in my craft room. I flipped the sketch and did some other details here like the flower, butterfly, ribbon and silver pearls and swirls. The flower swag is heat embossed with the color 'enchanted gold', the stamp just so happens to be a stamp out of a set of SU.

My seasonal FIRST

Garage Sale . . . . . . . .

And a matter of fact, I was a major contributor to the sale. LOL, NO, I did not buy my own stuff back! One of my sisters is moving and really cleaned house!!!! I did also, I had around 20 good sized boxes myself plus an area rug and other items that do not fit into boxes well. My sister had AT LEAST 5 times what I had and these were, the key word here is WERE her items. The chair is kinda wild, LOL but I like it, it is a mid size chair, not a child but not a full size, I like to sit in it and so far I have not broken it (ha, ha, that is a joke). I also got the white tablecloth to use as a ... well table cloth and a back drop to photo shoot my cards. The Irises are very pretty for not being "real", I can see those grace my table at some point, put in a clear totally round vase and lined with DP, Ahhh, I will show you if I do that in the future. Course the reserved sign I am not sure where that was 'lifted' from, did I say lifted? Surely NOT, procured from I am sure is the correct term. I love my new treasures.
I tell you the sale was tons of WORK, cleaning out the house was tons of work, wrestling items from the family - tons of work. Spending time with my sister, priceless. I can't wait to see her new house.

Happy weekend and it is wonderful outside, I am just blogging this today, I made this card several days ago when it was raining. Annoying computer problems, we ended up getting a new one now we have two that are both new. Still trying to get the newest one tuned into our family, LOL. Garden Workbench

Hello and Welcome,

If I may share this with you today ~ I have had this stamp in my collection for many years and one I treasure. Since I love to garden myself and enjoy the outdoors, you can understand why it has been with me a long time.

I did this one up, first I stamped and the embossed the image with EP and then used some chalks on the image itself, along with a few markers. I do love chalks, I love the way they look but they do not do small details well as to why I did markers on some of the smaller details. At the end of this post I showed you my stamp, the Ep I used as I also showed you my embossing pad and Chalks, which also I have had a long time. I use eye shadow applicators to apply my chalk and boy, they have been used well too.

This is the inside of the card and another stamp set I used but a clear set. The circle and the word is also embossed. Did you notice the half circle on the front of the card off to the right hand side? The theme is being carried onto the inside as well as the envelope but omitted the word bloom on that so that you can write the persons name on the card that will be receiving it. I do like how this turned out but can't say I love the photos I have taken. Cameras are funny things or frustrating things. LOL. One card photo shot is fabulous and the next, NOT!

I owe you an update on my Easter dinner, if nothing else, I mentioned I may try my hand at a Easter cake and YES, the sorry cake is in this blog post, LOL. So, let's start out with the Easter Ham..

The was a Honey Baked Spiral Ham. Dear Hubby told me he was going to go shopping for it and he did and then he cooked it to. Guess he did not trust me for the ham selection. Probably best, I am not a the best of cooks.

The cake!! I layered the cake for a larger quantity. I don't recommend this, the bunny is now lopsided. Also thinkin' the rabbit looks like a snowman with his mouth. Plus I think he needed whiskers. But, the cake was a lemon, I mean the favor was lemon and very good so happy about that and it was served with vanilla Ice Cream. Viewing these photos makes me wish I was sitting down for dinner again.

Part of our Easter Egg hunt, this was was found fairly easily. It is in my laundry room.

Also in my laundry room. Next year.. hahaha. I am making the hunt so much harder! I already picked up some new Easter eggs. The ones I got are the mini ones you would hang on an Easter Egg tree, they are about only an inch or so big and I am going to use those to hide. I need to make it much more challenging!!

Easter Company

We are getting ready for our Easter Company at our home. This was my chosen Holiday this year, we pick at Thanksgiving who will host which one. SO, I have been getting ready for some time, first it was the handmade card/invites and then the shopping of the Easter egg hunt gifts and the wrapping. Next was the little Easter place card cups, the purchase of the flowers and ribbon for the rolled linen napkins. Tomorrow we are going to dye our Easter eggs to put in our little cups and boy of boy, I am going to try and make a molded Easter cake. I will be back next week with some other pictures, I hope of the cake (LOLOLO) and our Easter dinner. My husband will do the cooking so that should be just fine!!

We will be having 14 people for dinner, 15 if you want to come. Our rolled linen napkins with the flowers and ribbon. I FINALLY bought enough of this style of napkin for a very large group. I have been known to have more than one style of napkin on the table, ** nothing wrong with that **, just wanted to have/do something different each holiday hosting I do to keep them guessing!

Our Easter egg hunt gifts. Our family is kinda in the middle, we no longer have the small children for our hunt and no grandchildren yet so I thought instead of candy we will be doing little adult gifts (not that adult, this is Easter, you know!) Shhh, all a secret yet!!

Our little Easter nameplate cups. Tomorrow is Easter egg Dying and those will be going into those little cups and those little birdies that I cut off from the picture I will glue dot to the egg. Alas, the chicken or the egg?

Okay, got some musing today too. I went to the dentist today. I broke my tooth several weeks ago and I needed a crown, my first really major dental work I have ever needed done and I tell you, those shots of novicane , at least 4, I kid you not are very painful but after that I did not feel a thing and that was for about a good six hours. This not not my usual dentist, now don't these doctors/dentists seem younger all the time, a sure sign that I am getting older. Anyways she looks at me, says, have I treated you before?, then said, No, I don't think I have. I say, no, I do believe you are right and what I am really thinking is NO, how could you, you just graduated from dental school, OMG!! Anyways, other than the shots, she was very nice so I get to see her in two weeks to finish up my treatment. One thing I always do is make sure I look in the mirror before I leave that building, fool me once, I tell you. Because once I walked out with polish on my mouth/cheek and was on there the rest of the day until I got home!!! My dentist/HMO clinic is by the the house I lived in before this one, not that far away but still enough. I thought I would finish up my Easter grocery shopping at a store by there to save time and let me time you, you do not save time shopping in a store where you do not know where anything is!! It was pouring rain after my shopping and a store employee was walking the customers out under their umbrellas, was that the sweetest you have ever heard of. I did decline, I felt badly for her so I got all wet anyways. Phew, what a day.

MMSC47, A Sachet Gift Box

Today I will show you something different, we have been featuring Priscillastyles thick style envelopes this month at Midnight Madness, our monthly sponsor, but you can use these envelopes for something other than a card. I used a Sachet of Vanilla and Lavender but anything that is around that size would work also. Boy, my craft room has been smelling heavenly this week!! MMSC46, Cocktail anyone?

Celebrate with a long cool one, whatever that would be!! For my main focal point it is not at stamped or a digital image BUT a cocktail. How about a big wish of "Celebrate"? This is so festive, great for any good news or a birthday celebration. This is also my first Easel card, not hard at all. What got me to do one? I have been meaning to, really but since this is very top heavy and was doing the splits for me when I tried to stand it up, well the solution was to make it into an Easel card, and now there is NO problem with that. I just did a very small modification.

So since I am sure you have noticed by now how thick this card is with the bead on the stir stick and all the other goodies (but so worth it) I needed to create a thick style envelope, this card is 5 x 7 and so I used the template from Priscillastyles for this size. She also offers several other envelope sizes and styles so stop on by for the endless possibilities. Priscillastyles is also our monthly sponsor at Midnight Madness and our Midnight Madness Mistress. MMSC 45, Framed-up Flower

Hello and Welcome,
Today I bring you a framed-up flower bloom. I like how this came together and really enjoyed adding the stick pin with the butterfly jewel and those two Coral colored Prima Flowers and the background designer paper in Coral as well but I will let you be the judge as I show you several of the pictures I took of this card.
This is the card and the envelope I created for it. Notice the card is extra thick due to the two large Prima flowers and the name plate frame and added stick-pin. To address an extra thick card, you can use an extra thick envelope template that will house a thicker card. You can find those at Priscillastyles Store, Our Monthly Sponsor at Midnight Madness. Here I am showing you a close-up on the butterfly and threaded through my stick-pin. Also notice the word 'thank you' , it is very pretty and a RUB-ON. I have never used a rub-on but loved it. I think that these are great it you want to take an all-occasion card and make it for whatever purpose you need a card for.

I couldn't buy just one sheet, I have to buy three of them.

Yet another reason to love this time of year!!

To think I ALMOST missed on my yearly Girl Scout Cookies, I sent a word out and lookie, I got some. Actually hubby brought them home after I told him that I think I missed the selling season, so here he brings them home, isn't that nice? Well actually how these cookies work and a lot of other food items at my house works is, I open the box, take out what I am going to eat at that time. Then I come back to an ALMOST empty box. You see where I am going with this, so when I DO mention that they were all eaten by 'others' then I am told, you opened the box and finished the box so surely you got more that any one else? Who knows what really happens to the other cookies, Huh?? The logic totally escapes me.

Today I have something different for you to view, at least something different for me. I want to show you my 5 x 7 tablet. I know it looks like a card on the outside but I assure you that it has pages, about 25 pages without my actually counting them. I don't normally do a 5 x 7 size but this stamp, I thought works well on this size and I had a tablet as a template and used that to make the cover.

Notice a lot of distressing on both the tablet and the envelope, thankfully it was the ink and not myself. Since this is a tablet with some depth to it, I needed an envelope to be able to hold it securely and be deep enough so what's a girl to do, I am going to send you over to Priscillstyles Envelope Templates Priscilla offers several different styles of templates for thicker cards or altered items. Page down in this link and you will see her different product offerings.

The tablet fitting into the envelope, this is easy to use but needs a larger piece of cardstock.

I hinted in an earlier blog post at my 2010 thoughts and some of the things I wanted to do, and doing R.A.K. is one I am striving to do more of in 2010 and beyond. You know a Random Act of Kindness not need to be a big act or many words, many times just something small like opening a door, sending a quick note, picking up someone a coffee, a favorite chocolate, saying a kind word can brighten someones day more than you know. So today I am offering you my blog friends a R.A.K. A few tokens and trinkets I find and purchase here and there, whether you choose to use them on a card or altered items, well that's part of the fun ~ I hope I made this little 'package' interesting for you and it will put a smile on your face when it arrives to your door.

WISH - Signs of Spring

I made this today, I needed to unwind and relax and Woo Hoo, I love it. This bird is actually an Applique' that came in a two pack. I used the first one last Spring and if I recall the card, these two cards are totally different. Another thing (I always say that and ends up to be many things!) the white die cut like is a felt coaster I picked up about a month ago, I used a lavender one several cards back, guess I really do like them. This is the first time I have put a pin on my cards, a new technique for me. I do like them but often wondered if people get stuck with them but I pushed and weaved it into the felt coaster just in case. I also attached a heart charm to the bow and pin. I'm showing that as a second picture here. This paper has a sheen to it so it is shiny and see the word WISH in the upper left, we are wishing it were spring! I do feel it coming!

Hello, This is such an exciting post for me to write, I was able to work with Sue over at McMahonFivedesigns.com to showcase some of her images she carries in her shop and believe me the pleasure was all mine. I have three cards to show you today, very impressive for me to have three at one time!

This is a rubber stamp at Sue's store called Sadie's Floral Hat listed under the D'Amour Allure line, I love her name, don't you? I name all my favorite images, LOL, anyways the minute I saw her I thought of her as 'my' Sailor Girl so I used a nautical theme here with her. She is going to sail the Seven Seas for me and see the world. Notice the wood paper in the background, that is also from Sue's store, the wheel and compass is a die-cut off of an invitation I got last summer. I also sewed on the wood paper a wave design to mimic the Sea.

On this card I used a digital image, an orchid called Orchid (funny how that works!). To color the flower I used my chalks, and used some Stickles for the flower center to give it some sparkle, a variety of Stickles are available in Sue's store as well. If you noticed the wood paper I used on this card front, I embossed it, it went right through my Wizzard with no problems. I am so really for Spring and this is such a nice digi to welcome it in.

And look at my last card!!! Also a digital called "Lilly with Cat and dog'. Once I received it and printed in on my printer, I thought - no need to color this one, I love it as a Black and White so that is exactly what I decided to do - leave it as it is. I did add some embellishments like machine sewing, metal corner holders, black lace, Prima flowers, (also available at Sue's store), a black gingham brad, and a Happy Birthday pin. I hope this gives you some ideas on how to use these images, I am sure you can come up with many of your own but whatever you 'do up', boy they sure are fun and Sue is a great lady to work with. MMCS 41, Dog Gone Love

Another week of winter is behind us and that is great news, I have been working on some home projects, the one good thing about winter, now if I can only get them all done by Spring! Today I bring you my MMSC card, there are two images I am showcasing, both are by our monthly sponsor Cornish Heritage Farms. The first one is called Scrapblocks, LOVE, a 6 x 6 inch rubber stamp and the second one is Man's Best Friend featuring the little pooch I did up in blue embossing powder.

I think he is very cute and I put some flower buttons on my card front and tied them on with floss. Notice that background paper, that is actually fabric paper! Hard to see that but it sure feels like it is.

Vintage framed hand -painted on glass birds

I thought I would share with you my new item, a Vintage framed hand-painted (on glass) set of birds. The detail on this is exceptional and the colors are lovely. I actually had purchased these some time ago but only now offering it for sale in my Vintage shop as soon as I get that listed.

I was out most of the day today with an appointment and running errands, I was on the road alot and ran around about lunch time so I saw many men and women eat in their vehicles, I gotta tell you it is funny how people eat when they thought no one was watching, so I was thinking Umm, I wonder how I eat? Painting on Rubber.

Yes, it is true, I just may be the LAST person to know about this but this really struck me as very pretty. I saw a sample of this done at my local Archiver's store, and thought, oh NO, here I go again, yet a new (at least for me) way to stamp.

I am not even sure the proper name for this method, maybe someone can tell me! So I picked up this new rubber stamp measuring 4 x4 , it is inverted (again not sure if that is the right term), a new square acrylic block, Glamor Dust, and an acrylic paint dabber plus some chocolate paper. So you take your dabber, and blot it onto your rubber stamp and then you stamp it onto your paper, after I stamped it, I sprinkled the glamour dust on it to give it some sparkle. It drys fairly quickly. The dabber seems to last a long time, it looks like there is about 2/3 of the paint left. I have about 25 Poppy's done here and need about 30 more so thinkin' maybe I can make it through this project with just one. The end project is to be party invitations. Woo Hoo... I love parties.

I used a paper pack on this card by Basic Gray so it all matches. The rose came with the paper pack. I do like to complete the inside of the card right after I complete the front, for me, I find it is much easier while I still have all the papers in my craft area rather than to try and match it later.

Hello my blog friends, thanks for stopping by, leave me a note so I can do the same for you! Hard to know who visits when the door is always OPEN!

I started this out as a card front B U T .. I changed my mind!! At Midnight Madness anything goes so I mounted it in an off-white picture frame and she really WOW'ed me then. I then placed a chocolate brown ribbon on the outside of the frame all the way around and tied a bow on top of it. Plus I added a flower on the top.

There is a side view of the picture frame and the chocolate ribbon I mentioned. You know, I did by some Peanut M & M's today at the store and I forgot all about them until I typed in the word chocolate so you know where I am going to go next, don't you?

Ok, are you at all wondering about the hair piece and dress? Umm. Well that is the same type of flower I put on the the top the frame, Yes, it is!! The flower was sold as a bouquet at Joann's and I pulled the blooms off (they were 4 pedal) and I divided them and cut them to shape the dress and hair piece and yes, it came with the gold glitter on the edges. I would say it took NO time at all but,, OMG it did anyways, LOL. Piecing that altogether and the glue!! I decided to bring in in front of the TV and watch HGTV while I was doing it. Today I decided to create, rainy and freezing rain today yet again. Last night after my SUV adventure, sliding every which way in my drive way to end up in my front yard snow bank, stuck. Went into the house after climbing out, tell my husband the SUV is parked for the night (TeeHee) it certainly wasn't going anywhere, he decides to get it out of the snowbank ~ I think we should have left it there, make the neighbors wonder what kind of night we had!! Anyways, this is one way to stay out of trouble, husbands should be grateful for that!

I think Lavender and lace fit this card. I used some older cardstock, some designer stitching, the flower is a Prima flower as is the brown leaves, then we have pearls, a stick pin, some light embossing, the lace I got from my Mom and the Lavendar centerpiece is actually a felt coaster - YEP! It fits well on cards, I think it works.

Growing our own Kitty Cat grass!

Isn't everyone in the US tired of this crazy weather, from East to West and North to South, we are all getting wintered in. Florida with the freezing crop problem and birds used to tropical weather are getting heaters at the zoos and the closing of schools in the East and road closing in North Dakota this morning .. seems like no one is escaping it this year.
Closer to home in Minnesota, my poor kitties! They love to eat grass but there is no grass to be found so I picked this package up for them, we are now waiting for the grass to grow. My gray kitty, Charlie is a stinker!. Each morning when my daughter Megan leaves for the day she likes to sneak out (Do Cats think they are invisible? I think so!) so I have to go and bring the girl back in. She just stares at the snow, looks at me, stares again, gives ME a dirty look, Hey, I can't do anything about all that snow I tell her! Okay, I talk to my Kitties, ALOT. So, I am hoping that this will make her happy or at least happier then she is right now - hurry up and grow grass.

On another note, due to the walkways being slippery, my Mom fell and shattered her wrist several days ago. So.. she will be having surgery next week and they will be putting in one plate and one rod. Yesterday I did her grocery shopping and did the chopping and peeling and such and tomorrow I will be taking her to her pre-op surgery appointment. Since my Mother is elderly and does not drive, us 'kids', LOL will be helping her with her appointments and daily living tasks.

Winter Wolf, MMCS35

Hello and Welcome and since today is Tuesday, I bring to you my Midnight Madness card, I have called it Winter Wolf. I have used several different stamps on the card front, the first is the wolf with a moon and cloud, notice the wolf has a scarf around the neck, cold out in those woods! The second stamp is a tree that I used from our sponsor this week out of the Halloween stamp set listed under the category of Seasons from Sunflower-dragonflies. You can use it all year round by mixing things up a bit. Our Monthly Sponsor is D'Amour a new stamp company started by our own DT member Jeni right here at Midnight Madness.

The card front, two stamps used there. I flipped the sketch, bet you picked up on that right away and I also glittered the wolfs scarf, the moon and added puffed paint to the cloud and 'crackle' to the tree for the tree bark.
