Painting on Rubber.

Yes, it is true, I just may be the LAST person to know about this but this really struck me as very pretty. I saw a sample of this done at my local Archiver's store, and thought, oh NO, here I go again, yet a new (at least for me) way to stamp.

I am not even sure the proper name for this method, maybe someone can tell me! So I picked up this new rubber stamp measuring 4 x4 , it is inverted (again not sure if that is the right term), a new square acrylic block, Glamor Dust, and an acrylic paint dabber plus some chocolate paper.  So you take your dabber, and blot it onto your rubber stamp and then you stamp it onto your paper, after I stamped it, I sprinkled the glamour dust on it to give it some sparkle.  It drys fairly quickly.  The dabber seems to last a long time, it looks like there is about 2/3 of the paint left.  I have about 25 Poppy's done here and need about 30 more so thinkin' maybe I can make it through this project with just one.  The end project is to be party invitations.  Woo Hoo...  I love parties.

If you know the terms or style of this stamping, please be sure to fill me in!  This post also applies to the RAK listed below, the more you comment, the more entries you get.  Have a great day /night to you all and enjoy your weekend, the Superbowl will be Sunday.  ~~~  Blessings, Jane

  3. you are not on your own this is new to me too and what a pretty image and finished product too. I know what inverted is if that helps it just means instead of the bit you stamp stndinding up it sticks in a bit like if you dry emboss. The side that pops out would be like a normal stamp and the side you do the embossing the debossed side is like the inverted stamp. They look fab anyway who cares about terminology Thanks for sharing Julye

  5. I have never heard of or seen this before either. Pretty cool though. I guess it is more like you are painting the rubber around the image, so that the paper gets colored only and then the indented image shows through in the color of paper that you choose, right? Would make for great silhouettes. Very cool for the invitations and seemingly quicker to do as well. A great find all the way! Thanks for sharing!
