Pearson's Candy Is Celebrating their 100th Anniversary this month.
and to help celebrate and wish them well in their continued success, I bought this candy bar and my Husband and I split it (I know, I know, it was the very least I could do). OK, everyone else posts cards they made today, I made NO cards today but ate a candy bar, LOL. Pearson candy is located in my fair city, Saint Paul Minnesota so I HAD to show my support. This was in an article in the newspaper today, the 'St. Paul Pioneer Press' that these Candy Bars along with the Salted Nut Roll also made by Pearson's are regional - say that isn't SO!! By regional they stated that Pearson is mostly known in Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin and the Dakotas. Have you seen these in your state? Please, I would love to know - I hope so and they are good. What did I do today since I did not made a card? I spend the day with my Mother taking her on her errands and to the grocery store and then to enjoy our day, off to Harriet Island in St. Paul to walk the boardwalk along the riverbanks. We also had a little picnic as we bought items from the deli to enjoy outside. Next time we go, I promise to bring the camera because the views are awesome. Thanks for reading all of this and don't forget to answer the candy bar question.

Getting back to what brought me to card making in the first place!!
I bet there are dozens of reasons why people started making cards but for me I started out Scrap booking my photos with Creative Memories Albums and products. I am still doing that althought I am behind, I have not scrapbooked since this past Christmas and it is going on June! Some of the products are interchangable and I innocently thought I had what I needed to make cards, boy was I wrong, LOL !!! I think I will be trying to sneak a few pages in here and there between my other paper creations to get caught up. My new unwrapped Creative Memories album is chocolate, Yummy. Can't wait to dig in!!!

*** Caring for your Paper Punches ***
Punches need occasional maintenance to keep them in their best working order. To sharpen your punches, punch a few pieces of tin foil through your punchs and to lubricate them, punch through a few pieces of waxed paper. I took a picture of some of my punches, you also may have an assortment of brands, I have shown some Martha Steward, Creative Memories, Fiskars, Marvy Uchida, and EK Success punches and took a picture of wax paper and tin foil but you may use other brands, whatever you have in the house. Use caution: When you punches are not cutting your chosen product efficiently, stop and evaluate if it is the wrong weight for that particular punch rather than damaging it. I hope that this has been helpful or at least serve as a reminder that we need to take care of our TOYS!
Please stop by again, I will be offering more tips in future blog posts. Feel free to become a follower if you are not already one, I love the company!

My Day at the Horse Races
I thought some of you might enjoy seeing my photos of my day at the horse races, yes it is legal in Minnesota. And YES, you can bet and I probably broke even and NO you do not get your money back if you place a bet for your horse to win and the Jockey falls off the horse! I took pictures of the building. the race track with the horses, the green starting gate, the score board and the band playing. This was the opener, first race of the season and runs until labor day. I went with my friends Fran and Lois - we will be back.

My Mother's Day Photos, I hosted a brunch for my Mother and my sisters and families.
No, I am not in any photos as I was taking the pictures but my daughter and husband is, can you figure out who they are? Hint, the top picture is my niece modeling the food fare. The bottom is the cards I made for my sister and Mother and my idea of wrapping a bow around the china plates, notice the patterns are all different, kinda cool - huh? Hope you all enjoyed your day also. Thank you for stopping in!!

This is a lift bridge we went under the bridge spands over Minnesota and Wisconsin so on each side is a different state.
Small pleasure craft can go under without it lifting - no problem but the larger ones like that we were on and the barges need it lifted. The pilot radios the bridge operator and will then lift the bridge, at times a large queue of larger boats will idle until the brigde can be lifted. There was not busy out on the river today, it is still early in the season being that this is MN.
